What is creativity? It’s a difficult question to answer. Is it imagining things out of thin air? Is it finding hidden patterns and chasing where they lead? Is it making connections between that which seems to be unrelated? Is it putting chips in your sandwich?
The topic of what creativity is has been covered ad infinitum, so there’s no sense in us going down that same old road again. Creativity is like Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart’s definition of obscenity – you know it when you see it. In public relations, we see a lot of creative things. In fact, we do a lot of creative things. Our creative ideas are what our clients depend on us for – they are what helps their brand stand out from the crowd. And because most of the time we are zipping around near the speed of light like particles in the Large Hadron Collider, we need to be able to get creative at a moment’s notice.
